This article appeared in South Perth's local community newspaper, the "Southern Gazette", on Tuesday 2nd May, 2006.

While the information they published about our self-sustainable farms project in Panama is not terribly accurate, it was nice to get a little publicity about the project, and in particular, the movie night. We raised around $975 from that event, which was of tremendous help to the Rotaractors in Panama doing all the hard work on the project!

The Rotaract Club of South Perth hopes to help disadvantaged people in Panama with a screening of The Da Vinci Code at Reading Cinemas in Belmont on May 19. Club member Aaron Cumming, of East Victoria Park, said 10 students aged between 18 and 30 planned to build chicken farms in five remote Panamanian villages. 'It is rewarding to be able to make a difference to the lives of others,' he said. 'Rotaract offers young people a fantastic opportunity to develop their leadership skills throuhg organising and participating in projects such as these.'
