Death By Chocolate

"Death By Chocolate" was our major fundraising event for our International Service projects in 2000 and 2001.

The club members (mainly the girls!) made a huge variety of tantalising chocolate delights, then we held an "all you can eat" for $10. We also had a few games and competitions on the night to spread out the chocolate eating. On both occasions we had so much chocolate left over that everyone got to take at least one plateful home as well, so everyone certainly got their money's worth! We also held a raffle and a "guess the number of M&Ms in the jar" competition.

Our first Death By Chocolate was held on 8th April 2000, and was well attended by all Rotaract clubs in WA. We raised $450, which was put towards a RAWCS project to equip a school in rural China.

Our second Death By Chocolate night was held on 17th February 2001, but was only attended by 20 people (half of which was our club!). We didn't raise anywhere near as much as we needed, so we added some funds from our Cash for Cans proceeds and put the money (US$200) towards a Matching Grant with one of our then sponsoring Rotary Clubs, Mill Point, and a Rotary Club in India, to purchase a drinking water fountain for a hospital in India.
