Annual International Dinner
In a bid to widen our culinary experience, we hold an international dinner at least once every year.
We all choose a different country to a cook a dish from, preferably something more unusual, that we wouldn't normally eat or find at a food hall. Just buying something to bring is strictly a no-no! We then enjoy an informal three course dinner party together at someone's house, where we sample all the food.
Every member who comes - both the guys and the girls - brings one dish each (we coordinate in advance to make sure that we don't get two countries the same in a particular year, and to make sure we have several courses covered). Some years we have had international drinks as well. Over the years we have discovered that every single one of our members is a talented cook, and everything we have tried has been delicious!
Each International Dinner is eagerly anticipated. We held our first International Dinner in August 2000, and enjoyed it so much we held it again in June 2001 and April 2002. Since then, it has become a tradition to hold it every June, usually our last event for the Rotaract year, to relax and enjoy some great food with great people!
